The majority of the Eco-Sensitive Zones (ESZ) have their specific travel guidelines which are provided to you while entering such places. You should follow those area specific guidelines. In the absence of any area specific rules, you must follow some general guidelines for driving safely in eco-sensitive zones which are provided below.

Make sure that all the windows and doors are closed. Beware of the animal movement in these zones.
Figure: Road signs to caution regarding animal movementDo not use horns unless indicated to do so. Do not play radio, loud music, etc. in your vehicle, while driving in these zones. Remember, the main objective is to move quietly without disturbing any animals passing by.
Figure: Road sign indicating horn prohibitionBe cautious about animals crossing the road. You should stop your vehicle as far as possible from the animal till it crosses the road. If necessary, always cross from behind the animals.
Follow the posted speed limit. Try minimising emission and noise pollution by driving in high gear at a uniform speed. Avoid sudden acceleration and deceleration.
You should not stop/park your vehicle in ESZs except in the case of emergencies.
