Common Distractions

All distractions can be dangerous and life threatening but texting while driving is one of the most dangerous distractions because it involves all three types of distractions mentioned previously. Other examples of common distractions are:

  • Using a cell phone
  • Eating and drinking
  • Talking to passengers
  • Grooming
  • Reading (looking at the map)
  • Using navigation system
  • Watching a video
  • Changing the radio station, CD, etc.
  • Listening to loud music
